Team 3Thirty

Project coordinators and support professionals → NSW Government

You keep projects moving. Show the panel how.

The action register, reporting pack and follow-up often sit behind someone else’s project headline. If you coordinate projects or support delivery, your NSW Government application needs to show what your work made possible, with a clear account of your own responsibility.

Your contribution to delivery

From follow-up to evidence.

01 / Keep track

Milestones, actions, documents and dependencies.

02 / Make a judgement

Check what is missing, clarify responsibility and escalate an issue.

03 / Support delivery

Show how the team used your work to move forward.

Find the right level of responsibility

Project support is a pathway in its own right.

Look beyond Project Manager vacancies. Project Support Officer, Assistant Project Officer, Project Officer and Program Support Officer roles can draw on coordination, documentation, financial administration and stakeholder support. The same title can cover very different work across agencies.

Coordination and control

Schedules, meeting papers, action registers and document control can provide relevant evidence. Explain how you kept information current and helped colleagues meet their responsibilities.

Business support within projects

Purchase orders, invoices, budget tracking and reporting may be central to a role. Describe the checks and systems you actually used, and where you referred a decision to someone with authority.

Support, officer or manager?

Match your evidence to the advertised scope. Supporting a budget differs from owning it. A manager application needs the required delivery authority and accountability; a support application should make your contribution equally clear.

Where project applications lose detail

‘Assisted with the project’ leaves too much unexplained.

The project gets the credit

A description of the whole program can obscure what you did. Separate the team’s outcome from the records, decisions, follow-up and improvements you were responsible for.

The tools become the example

A software list gives the panel little evidence of delivery. Explain what you maintained in the system, who relied on it and how you checked its accuracy.

Support is inflated into ownership

Claiming you managed the entire project can make the account inconsistent with your actual role. Show your real initiative and escalation decisions within the authority you held.

What a stronger example contains

Take one delivery problem from issue to follow-through.

We help you identify a situation where your coordination mattered, then ask for the detail needed to write an accurate application. These are evidence prompts, not a fictional achievement.

The issue

What was at risk?

Was a milestone slipping, a document missing, a purchase delayed or a stakeholder waiting on a decision? Explain the effect on the work.

Your action

What did you do next?

Describe your tracking, checks, conversations and escalation. Make the boundary between your recommendation and the manager’s decision clear.

The follow-through

What changed?

Show the updated information, completed action, resolved discrepancy or improved handover. Use a result you can support rather than borrowing the whole project’s success.

Invited to a video interview for a Project Officer role

We prepared a Project Officer application using a client’s real coordination, reporting and stakeholder examples. The client then received an invitation to the recorded video interview stage and sent us this update:

“I’ve been applying for Gov jobs since March 2025 with no luck. This is just incredible.”

Anonymised client email. Individual outcomes vary; an application does not guarantee an interview.

Questions project coordinators ask

Do I need to have held a Project Officer title?

Your previous title is one part of the picture. Compare the advertised duties with the work you have actually done, including coordination within operations, administration, events or change projects. Check all essential requirements before applying.

Can I use a project where I supported the manager?

Yes, where it demonstrates the experience the role asks for. Explain your own responsibility and actions. Be accurate about who held the budget, approved decisions and owned delivery.

Does a project qualification make me eligible?

Read the particular role’s requirements. A qualification can be required, desirable or one part of an equivalent-experience pathway. It does not replace evidence of the work, and the application service cannot supply a qualification you do not hold.

Will you write the CV as well as the questions?

The $497 Complete Government Application includes a CV rewrite and the written application documents required by the accepted job ad. We check the required format and word or page limits before drafting.
