The work spans frontend, backend and API development, cloud-native platforms, CI/CD, DevOps, automation, observability and security.

Application requirements

Check the Transport application form before drafting and record every required upload, online question and technical-response field.

Prepare a role-specific resume that makes the scale, architecture, trade-offs and outcomes of your full-stack, cloud and delivery work easy to assess. Use any written-response field to explain one substantial engineering decision in enough detail for the panel to understand your individual contribution.

Candidate evidence areas

End-to-end software delivery

Choose a product, platform or service you delivered across the lifecycle. Explain the problem, your technical responsibilities, the trade-offs and the result for users or the organisation.

Full-stack engineering

Show how you worked across frontend, backend, APIs or data flows. Make the connection between the architecture and the user or operational outcome clear.

Cloud and platform engineering

Use an example involving cloud-native services, internal tooling, scalability, reliability or platform improvement. Explain how you managed risk and maintained quality.

CI/CD, automation and DevOps

Describe how you improved build, test, release or deployment practices. Include the measurable impact on delivery speed, quality, repeatability or incident risk.

Performance, observability and security

Show how you investigated a performance or reliability problem, improved observability or strengthened security. Explain how you knew the change worked.

Technical influence

Give an example of translating a business requirement into a robust technical solution, influencing a design decision or helping other engineers improve their practice.

Example application structure

1. Opening: Position yourself as a senior full-stack engineer and connect your experience to Transport’s customer and operational systems.

2. End-to-end delivery: Explain one substantial solution from design through delivery and operations.

3. Cloud and DevOps: Show your approach to cloud platforms, CI/CD, automation or internal engineering tooling.

4. Reliability and security: Give evidence of improving performance, observability, resilience or security.

5. Technical influence: Describe how you worked with stakeholders or guided engineering decisions.
