Choosing NSW Government application help: what to settle before paying

Team 3Thirty advice cover: choosing NSW Government application help and checking requirements.
In this guide

A government-specialist website can be one brand within a much wider résumé business. If exclusivity is part of why you are considering a provider, check the company behind it before paying. Then ask the provider to explain the work it would handle for your actual vacancy and the parts that remain with you.

Commercial disclosure: Team 3Thirty provides paid government application support Australia-wide, with its deepest experience in NSW Government recruitment. This guide explains the standards we recommend using with any provider, including us. Official guidance and business sources were reviewed on 4 October 2026.

Check what government specialisation describes

Government Résumés’ about page uses the words “We specialise exclusively” for government application preparation. Its footer names 1300 Resume Pty Ltd, whose wider website advertises work across private-sector and industry markets. The government brand’s specialisation does not establish government-exclusive activity across the company.

Ask whether a claim describes the website’s service, the operating company or the writer who will work with you. Each is a different piece of information. Our domain and operator guide shows the supported connections and keeps similarly named addresses separate.

Start with the role you can support with evidence

The NSW Government’s Capability Framework guide for team members recommends reviewing the role description, including the essential requirements and relevant capabilities. Check the required capability levels alongside the work described. Those details help you judge whether your experience gives you enough material for an application.

Keep eligibility conditions separate from examples of capability. A required professional registration needs a factual answer; a requirement to manage difficult stakeholders needs evidence of what you have done. If a condition is unclear, prepare a specific question for the contact person named in the advertisement.

A useful provider should be able to explain where your experience connects with the role and where a gap needs attention. Ask how that assessment informs the proposed work. Writing begins from the experience you can honestly demonstrate.

Put every written requirement on the quotation

Read the application instructions and make a list of the documents and responses requested. The advertisement may require a CV and letter, or it may ask for a pitch or targeted answers with their own limits. Keep the exact questions with that list so the writer can confirm the scope.

A hypothetical vacancy might require a three-page CV, a two-page letter and two 300-word responses. A quotation for a résumé would cover only one component unless it says otherwise. Ask the provider to identify responsibility for each component and explain whether the quoted price includes it.

Team 3Thirty gives this scope a fixed price. Our Complete Government Application is $497 including GST for the role-targeted CV and every written application document required by one vacancy. A letter, pitch or targeted answer is included when the job requires it; there are no separate CV, page or document charges. That lets you compare the full pack with a document-only quotation.

Word and page limits from the employer continue to apply even where a provider sells a package without its own page fees. The written work needs to fit the vacancy’s instructions. Our NSW recruitment guide explains the wider application and assessment process.

Check how the writer develops your examples

The NSW Capability Application Tool encourages specific examples showing what you did and how you did it. A useful intake process should help you recover that detail from your work. Rough notes can be valuable if someone asks the follow-up questions needed to understand them.

Our process is built around that evidence gathering. Team 3Thirty reads the role first, then asks focused questions about the experience that could support it. Dot points, an old CV and rough notes are useful inputs. The writing uses your real actions and supported results, and our NSW Government recruitment experience helps us identify the detail a panel needs to assess.

Consider a fictional applicant whose résumé says they coordinated a delayed procurement. A writer would need to understand the applicant’s responsibility, what caused the delay and how they dealt with it. If the applicant changed the sequence of approvals, the response should explain that action and its supported result rather than invent a saving or a percentage improvement.

Ask the provider how it handles missing information. You should be able to correct an assumption before it becomes a claim in your application. Keep any achievement specific enough that you could explain it confidently at interview.

Agree on delivery and review

Work back from the vacancy’s closing time. Record when the provider needs your information, when a first draft will arrive and how you will raise feedback. Leave time for you to check names and dates as well as the substance of the examples.

Clarify what revisions are included and how they are handled while the role remains open. Ask what happens if your information arrives late or the employer changes a requirement. You need the provider’s answer for your purchase, even when its website describes broad support.

Confirm the final formats and who submits the application. Editable documents can help you check the wording and reuse accurate career information later. Your own submission review should include the advertisement’s instructions and any required online responses.

Choose the right form of interview help

Written preparation and a live session involve different work. A written pack can help you study relevant examples and rehearse independently. A live practice session gives you an opportunity to answer aloud and receive feedback on how you explain your experience.

Ask which format the quote includes and what information the provider reviews beforehand. The NSW Capability Application Tool provides practice questions linked to capabilities and levels; it does not supply the employer’s guaranteed interview questions. Good preparation helps you understand your evidence well enough to adapt when a question is phrased differently.

Domain names can also blur the type of service being purchased. Our guide to résumé websites and operators explains why an address such as Interview-Coaching.com.au should be checked against the actual business and package.

A worksheet for your provider conversation

Use this record with the real advertisement beside you. Add the provider’s written answers before deciding.

Choosing NSW Government application help: what to settle before paying: supporting comparison
Detail What to record
Role and deadline Exact vacancy, closing time and the documents you have supplied to the provider.
Written scope Each required document or response, its employer limit and who prepares it.
Evidence gathering How the writer collects examples, checks gaps and lets you correct the facts.
Review arrangements Draft date, time for your feedback and the revisions included.
Final delivery Editable formats, final checks and who submits the application.
Further support Any interview help or additional applications, with their specific limits and price.

For continuing support, record how suitable roles will be identified and how your preferences can change. Ask what happens after included applications are used. An ongoing package should fit the pace of your search and the amount of work you expect the provider to handle.

Read reviews after you know the scope

A review becomes easier to interpret once you understand the proposed purchase. Look for a comparable service and deadline, then read any update and provider response. Small samples can provide useful observations while leaving the broader customer experience unknown.

If you are comparing Government Résumés with Team 3Thirty, our service comparison records the advertised scope side by side. Team 3Thirty delivers fully editable Word files, with unlimited revisions within the agreed scope while the role remains open. You check the facts and submit the documents through the employer’s system.
