Team 3Thirty

Current NSW Government Data, Analytics and Insight Jobs

In this guide

Last updated: 26 August 2026

This data shortlist ranges from intelligence work that supports policing decisions to metadata, quality and reporting roles that make large systems more trustworthy. It also includes people analytics, data science and a retained Senior Data Analyst role supporting digital transformation in NSW Fair Trading.

That range matters because the word data can hide the real purpose of the job. The NSW Police roles need analysts who can form a defensible assessment from incomplete and sensitive information. Transport roles focus more closely on data quality, metadata and operational reporting. The DCCEEW Senior Data Scientist role calls for deeper analytical methods and the ability to explain findings that inform environmental decisions.

The eight roles below were open when checked on 26 August 2026. New roles are listed first, with the retained Senior Data Analyst role kept because it remains open.

Key message: If you want Team 3Thirty involved across your wider job search, you can join the three-month AutoPilot waitlist for updates.

Compare the decision each role is there to support

The two NSW Police intelligence roles suit applicants who can connect analysis to risk, investigations or operational priorities. The People Data Analyst role is closer to workforce insight and advice, where the audience needs a clear story behind the numbers. Transport’s three analyst roles separate general analysis from the disciplines of data quality and metadata.

The Senior Data Scientist and Senior Data Analyst roles carry broader technical and transformation expectations. They are stronger options for applicants who can show how modelling, validation or data design changed a service, program or executive decision.

Show what changed because of your analysis

A panel needs to see your method and the consequence of the work. Choose an example where the information was incomplete, inconsistent or contested. Explain how you checked its quality, chose the right analytical approach, tested your interpretation and presented the finding to someone who had to act on it.

A reporting example becomes much stronger when the result is specific. The work may have exposed a control problem, changed an operational priority, improved the reliability of a dataset or helped a leader make a difficult decision with more confidence.
