Regional facility solar project — trying to explain it
New regional building, needed solar but it wasn't open yet so there was no real power use data. Had to work out the size somehow.
- used another similar sized site and its power use per floor area, then worked out demand
- talked to electrical contractor about what would actually fit
- new mechanical and roof safety drawings came through later and the layout clashed with things on the roof
- meeting with everyone, moved things around and sent changed drawings
- installer wasn't available in our window, found another one with the team
- did the technical documents and network connection paperwork
- tried to connect early but they said permanent power had to be there first

Planning and delivering a regional solar project
I will bring my experience planning and delivering technical projects to this role. On a new regional facility solar project, I had to size the system before operating data was available. I analysed consumption per square metre at a similar facility to estimate demand and prepare technical requirements with the electrical contractor.
When revised mechanical and roof-safety drawings created clashes, I coordinated the project parties, assessed the options and issued an updated layout. When the scheduled installer became unavailable, I adapted the delivery plan with the team, identified a replacement and prepared the installation and network connection documents.
The network provider required permanent power before connection. I communicated that constraint early, adjusted the sequence and kept stakeholders informed. The system was completed using the revised design.
