Introduction
The Senior Data Analyst and Insights at the Department of Customer Service works within the Closing the Gap Priority Reform 4 program. The program aims to improve shared access to government-held data and shared decisions about that data for Aboriginal communities. You will develop analytics, metrics and reporting that support that work with Aboriginal Affairs and NSW CAPO.
Your application needs a dashboard or reporting example with a clear account of how people influenced the design. The targeted question asks how you gathered and balanced different stakeholder needs, then secured agreement on the final messages. When planning how to apply for Senior Data Analyst and Insights, choose work where you can explain both the analysis and the conversations that made the result useful.
The technical requirements include Power BI, Python and SQL, with end-to-end business intelligence experience covering data modelling and ETL. The temporary position runs until 30 June 2028 and is based at McKell in Haymarket, with two days per week on site. Your cover letter should explain your motivation for the program and the experience you would bring to its data products.
