Application requirements

  • Responses to 2 targeted questions
  • Supporting documents for relevant qualifications or experience, where applicable and requested in the form

Targeted questions

  1. Can you describe a significant change or quality improvement initiative you have led in a healthcare or complex organisational environment? What methodology did you use and how did you tailor your approach to the needs of different groups, manage resistance, and influence stakeholders toward a common goal? What was the outcome?
  2. Give an example of a situation where you had to use strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, consultation and negotiation skills to resolve a complex issue while working with diverse stakeholders. How did you work independently and collaboratively, and what was the result?

What to highlight

Use a change with service consequences

For the first question, choose an initiative that affected care, operations, quality or another important service. Explain the method, how you adapted it for different groups, the resistance you managed and the outcome for the organisation or users.

Show judgement in a complex issue

For the second question, make the analysis and negotiation visible. Explain what information you gathered, which perspectives conflicted, what you handled independently and where collaboration improved the result.

Connect the examples to virtual care

Where accurate, draw out clinical workflow, patient or staff adoption, digital service implementation, governance or quality-improvement experience that would transfer to virtual models of care.

Application structure

Give each targeted question its own complete response:

  1. Open with the initiative or issue and why it mattered in the operating environment.
  2. Define your role, authority and the stakeholders affected.
  3. Explain the method, analysis, consultation, decisions and actions you personally led.
  4. Show how you handled resistance, disagreement or uncertainty.
  5. Close with a specific result and what sustained the change or resolved the issue.

What the panel will want to see in your examples

  • Change or quality improvement at meaningful scale
  • Methods adapted to clinical and operational stakeholders
  • Strong analysis and practical problem solving
  • Independent judgement combined with effective collaboration
  • A result linked to adoption, quality, service or patient outcomes
