Start with the decision or risk that made the work important. Explain the data sources, checks, assumptions and analysis you personally used. Show how you handled uncertainty or conflicting inputs, then finish with the forecast, advice or decision and its result.

Targeted question 2

Describe a situation where you had to explain complex financial information or resolve a financial issue with stakeholders who had different perspectives or priorities.

Show the difference in perspectives, the communication approach you chose and the financial reasoning behind your recommendation. Finish with the resolution, relationship outcome or decision that became possible because you made the issue understandable.

Your resume should make the answers easy to verify. Name the budgets, reporting cycles, systems, data volumes, stakeholders and outcomes that show the level of responsibility you held. If a targeted response describes a complex forecast but the resume only says “prepared reports”, the two documents will weaken each other.
