I normally write my own cover letters—how much can you really help?
Honestly, I write my own cover letters too. But one thing I’ve always done is get them reviewed by someone who knows government recruitment. Being in the public sector makes this easy—I can ask someone who won’t just check for typos but will actually analyse the job ad and tell me if my cover letter ticks all the right boxes.
