Inside the pack

Let me show you how government interview questions are written

See how the capabilities connect to the role, what the panel is listening for, and how to approach each answer to stand out

You have made it to interview

You've already earned the interview. Now make it count.

You applied. You were shortlisted. The panel has seen enough to bring you forward. You now have a genuine opportunity to prove your fit in more depth.

If it does not lead to the role, you may need to find another vacancy, prepare another application and go through another recruitment process. This stage deserves serious preparation.

Why normal preparation falls short

Knowing STAR is not enough

STAR can help you structure an answer. The harder part is knowing what this panel needs you to prove and which evidence to prepare.

You may not know the exact questions, but you can know what you need to be ready to prove.

What you will be ready for

  • what each answer needs to demonstrate
  • how to adapt your evidence when a question is phrased differently

Why this is different

Questions are only the starting point

Your Interview Preparation Pack

We analyse the actual role, capability level and your evidence so you know what to prepare and strengthen.

Preparation before practice

Practice is useful. Preparation comes first.

One of the best ways to reduce interview nerves is to get over-prepared. That means choosing your strongest examples, knowing what each answer needs to show and practising how you will adapt if the wording changes.

Start with the priority questions and answer them without coaching. Then work through the steps below and repeat them until interview day. Nerves may still be there, but you will not be relying on the right example appearing under pressure.
